Last week Google announced the new service Android Device Manager for Android mobile and tablet users, which helps owners find their lost or stolen phones and tablets on the Google maps. Now the service is live and available for all the Android users. But Android Device Manager is different from all of the other application, first thing we like about this service you don’t have to download any application on your device, all you have to make some changes on your device and your are ready to use this service free. So lets take a look how to use this service on Android mobile phone and Track Lost / Stolen Phone.
As we mention above you don’t have to download any application on your device. To activate this service on your device head over to your Android Settings > Security, and you will find the Android Device Manager option under Device Administrators option of your device. From here you have to enable the “Android Device Manager” Option. See the screenshot below:-
Once the service is enabled on your device, go to the Android Device Manager here https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager and login with your Google that you are using on your Android mobile or tablets to download apps and games. After that click on the “Accept” button to continue. Now you can see your Device name with all other details like Registered date, Last location and all.
On the same window you can see two more option “Ring” and “Erase”. With the help of ring option you can send a command to your lost device to ring for 5 minutes at the highest volume, even if it’s set on silent or vibrate.
And with the Erase feature , you can remotely erase all your data from your lost device, so no one can use the same. This will erase all your apps, photos, music, and settings from your device. Not only this you can check out the last location of your device on the Google maps too. So with this way you can get the idea where you lost mobile last spotted.
