How to Update LG Nexus 4 with Jellybean 4.2.1 Official

How to Update LG Nexus 4 with Android Jellybean 4.2.1 Official

1. First go to “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”, enable the USB Debugging. Also, make sure that the minimum battery life is 50% so as to make sure that device doesn’t get turned off in the middle of firmware update.

2. Now Download the Jellybean 4.2.1 JOP40D Package from here to your computer. And rename it to update.zip.

3. Now Connect your Nexus 4 to the computer with the help of original USB cable. And upload the downloaded file on your SD card. Make sure the file is in the root (not in any folders).

4. Now turn off your phone, and reboot it into bootloader mode. To do so turn on your phone while pressing the Volume down + Volume up buttons.

5. Follow the navigation instructions on the screen. Press Volume Up button several times till you see RECOVERY and press Power button to select it.

6. You will get an exclamation mark now. Again hold your Volume Up + Power buttons. You should now see the Recovery Mode menu.

7. Now Select “update from sd card” and select the update.zip file you placed on step 3.

Now the installation process is start, Your phone will reboot after few minutes and when its restarted you will have Android 4.2.1 on your LG Nexus 4 smartphone. That’s it! Go to Settings >About phone to verify.
