Google apps comes with all the latest Android smartphones, such as the Play Store, Gmail, Maps, etc. But whenever you try some different custom ROM on your phone like CyanogenMod, then you need to install the Google apps separately on your phone. Due to licensing restrictions, these apps cannot come pre-installed with CyanogenMod and must be installed separately. So if you are using the CyanogenMod CM11, CM11s ROM on your device and or want to try the same on you android device and looking for the way to install the Google apps package on your phone. They you are at the right place, today here i will show you how you can download and install the Google Apps on CyanogenMod CM11, CM11s Custom ROM.
This guide will work only on those device who are running on the CyanogenMod custom ROM. All you have to download the Google apps zip package on your phone and isntall the same through custom recovery. Read all the below mention steps very carefully and don’t forget to take the backup of your important files.
Install Google Apps on CyanogenMod Custom ROM
Step 1. Download the Google Apps package from this link and save the file on your desktop (It will be a zip file, don’t extract the folder)
Step 2. Once the file is downloaded, connect your phone to the PC with USB cable and Now move the downloaded Gapps zip folder on your device.
Step 3. Once the file is moved on your device, turn off your device and wait for 5 seconds.
Step 4. Boot your device in recovery mode. Read here to boot android device in custom recovery mode.
Step 5. Now you will see the custom recovery main menu screen , from here tap on the “Install Zip From Sdcard” or similar, and after that “Choose Zip From Sdcard”.
Step 6. Now browse the Google apps ZIP file that you moved on your phone or tablet and install the same on your device.
Step 7. The installation process will take some time to complete. Once completed, Reboot your device and you should now have Google Apps installed.
