How to Update Galaxy S4 I9500 to I9500XXUAMDK Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Official Firmware

Step 1. First thing you have to do is enable USB debugging mode on your Galaxy S4. Enable USB debugging mode on your Galaxy 4, here is the guide to enable USB debugging mode.

Step 2. After this Download Samsung Galaxy S 4 Drivers on your Computer and install it. Without these drivers you can’t update Galaxy S4 manually.

Step 3. Now Download the XXUAMDK Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Firmware for Samsung Galaxy s4 here and after that Download ODIN multi flasher tool. Once downloaded, extract both the files which you have downloaded in your computer.

Step 4. Turn Off your Galaxy S4, Now go to Download Mode. To do this hold Volume Down Rocker Key + Menu Button and then Power ON the device. Once the device is booted and you see the Download Mode Green Robot, you can release the button combos.

Step 5. Once you in Download Mode, Connect your Samsung Galaxy S 4 with the Computer via USB cable and run the ODIN application on your desktop. If your phone is connected successfully, one of the ID:COM boxes will turn yellow with the COM port number. If not than disconnect your device and connect it again.

Step 6. Once the phone is connected with the ODIN application, Click on “PDA” in odin to select the Firmware file which you download and extracted on Step 3.

Step 7. Now hit the start button from the ODIN to start the update process, the process will take some time.

Once the Update process is complete and your phone will restart. Now this time you can disconnect your Samsung Galaxy S4 from the computer. That’s it, now your new Samsung Galaxy S4 has now been updated to Android 4.2.2 XXUAMDK Firmware. To check the firmware Go to Settings > About phone and verify this firmware update.

  1. it’s a smoother firmware alright,but what you don’t specify is that this firmware is bloated with Russian bloatware!.

    it has lots of apps you don’t need.

    nevertheless it’s a much better firmware that the one it came with.
    still laggy though.
