Motorola Milestone XT720 available in India at 30k
Milestone XT720 is available in India now for Rs 30,000, Motorola Milestone XT720 comes with a 3.7-inch screen, eight megapixel camera capable of 720p HD video recording with a xenon flash. There’s also a HDMI port, HSDPA, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. The Motorola Milestone XT720 runs stock Android 2.1 but we can expect the Froyo update soon.

Airtel iPhone 4 Launch on October
Leading mobile operator, Bharti Airtel, is looking to launch Apple’s iPhone 4 in India in October, Chief Executive Officer for India and South Asia Sanjay Kapoor said on Monday. Bharti is also working with Apple Inc to start selling its iPhone 4 in India, hopefully in September or October, Sanjay Kapoor, the mobile operator’s chief executive for India and South Asia, said.
Airtel, which won 13 circles in the auction of airwaves for third generation (3G) telephony spectrum, shelling out Rs.12,295.46 crore ($2.73 billion), has also started gearing up its network to enable a quicker rollout of such services. “As far as 3G is concerned, a very large amount of the network is 3G ready. We are working towards an aggressive timeline,” said Kapoor.
Vodafone To Launch iPhone 4 In India
Vodafone India has announced that it is going to bring the newly launched Apple iPhone 4 to India. The device was unveiled at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco and will be available from June 24 in the USA, France, Germany, Japan and UK. Though Vodafone did not give any details about the date of availability, or the price.
The 16-gigabyte model will cost $199 in the US and the 32-gigabyte version will be priced at $299. “Pricing in India will be around Rs 35,000, as has been seen in all Apple iPhones,” industry experts said. According to the experts, the unlocked versions of the new iPhone would be available in the grey market at a discount of Rs 5,000-8,000.
Earlier versions of the iPhone are officially available in India through Vodafone and Airtel. The new iPhone, which is 9.3mm thick, is 24 per cent thinner than the iPhone 3GS. Jobs said the new design was the “biggest leap” since the range was first launched.
HTC launches Android HTC Legend in India
Today HTC launched a new Android-based HTC Legend handset in the Indian market priced at Rs 25,990. The handset also features HTC Sense which includes a widget called Friend Stream that aggregates user’s social networking accounts. The HTC Sense feature also supports a newsreader application and widget as well as a new seven-screen ‘Leap’ thumbnail view for quick and easy access to specific screens.
The Android based handset has been designed from a single block of aluminum to transform into a sleek handset. It comes with a 3.2-inch OLED HVGA display. The trackball has now been fitted with an optical joystick alongside a narrow button to enhance functionality without compromising on the look and design of the phone. Underneath the unibody enclosure, the handset has a 600MHz Qualcomm MSM 7227 processor with 384MB RAM and 512MB ROM.
Vodafone iPhone 3GS Price in India
After Bharti Airtel, Vodafone is also selling iPhone 3GS in India. Vodafone Essar will offer three plans – a prepaid plan of Rs. 100 and two post paid plans with Rs. 799 and Rs. 999 as rental respectively. Under the Rs. 799 plan, the customer would get 249 minutes talk time and 250 MB data usage free, while the 999 plan would offer free talk time of Rs. 299 and data usage of 600 MB without charge.
iPhone 3G is available at Rs. 33,500 (for 8GB version), Rs. 40,500 (for 16GB) and Rs. 47,500 (for 32GB) in Mumbai, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, respectively. For other regions, the handset would be available for Rs. 29,500 (for 8GB version), Rs. 35,500 (for 16GB) and Rs. 41,500 (for 32GB).
